Hello! I’m Phuong, you can call me Phu.
I’m an artist who traded AutoCAD for paintbrushes. My work blends realism with a more expressive, impressionistic touch, and I love experimenting with texture—especially adding impasto for that extra bit of depth and character. I primarily work with oils, layering over acrylic to create pieces that feel rich and full of life.
Art has always been more than just painting for me—it’s how I found my way back to myself. After leaving an unfulfilling career and a difficult chapter of my life, I rediscovered my identity through creativity. Now, I get to share that with others, not just through my own artwork but by teaching. My charcoal drawing workshops, Jin & Tones, are a way for me to help people reconnect with their own creativity, even if they think they don’t have an artistic bone in their body. There’s something really special about seeing someone surprise themselves with what they can create.
When I’m not in the studio or running workshops, you’ll probably find me mowing the lawn, reading tarot, or plotting my next art project (there’s always a next project).
